Yes, we only offer private one-on-one surf lessons to ensure safety, quality coaching, and faster progress in the water.

Can kids learn surfing in Bali?

Absolutely! We provide safe and fun surf lessons for kids and families with professional local instructors.

Do I need any surfing experience?

No experience required! Our lessons are beginner-friendly and all you need is enthusiasm—we’ll handle the rest.

Absolutely! We teach children all the time, always prioritizing safety, encouragement, and fun. If children are younger than 5 years old we do what is called Tandem, when they ride together with an instructor on the same board and he holds them during the ride, so it’s safe for them.

Swimwear, sunscreen, and a big smile! We provide all equipment.

Where are lessons held?

Our instructors choose the best surf spot daily in the Canggu area based on your level and the conditions.

What language do you speak?

Lessons are in English. Nawir Senior coach also understand German & Swiss-German!

We accept cash, local transfer, online payment and card payment. Details provided on confirmation.

Do I need to know how to swim?

You should have basic swimming skills, but if you are not a strong swimmer, you can use life jacket.

What time do lessons start?

Usually in the morning or afternoon, depending on tides. Most lessons are scheduled early morning between 6 am and 12 am to take advantage of calmer, offshore conditions. But we have to check the forecast the day before to make sure about the time, because conditions change daily and we have to monitor the times of the swell and the tide. The best time for you as well will depend on your surfing level. We’ll confirm your best time when you book.

My name is Nawir, and I’m proud to be recognized as one of the top surf instructors in Bali. I’ve been deeply passionate about surfing for over 18 years.

It all began when I was a young boy growing up on the west coast of Bali, in a quiet surfer’s paradise called Medewi. While fishing with my father, I would watch the older boys ride waves — and dream of one day doing the same.

One day, a friend gave me a surfboard, and together we caught our first waves. From that moment, I knew this was what I was meant to do.

As my skills grew, so did my desire to share this passion. Today, I train surfers of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced riders, using proven methods, personalized coaching, and in-depth ocean knowledge. I love to help students progress with confidence and surf at their best in Bali’s world-class waves.

i just completed 5 days of surfing lessons with nawir, and it was such a great learning experience. he was an amazing instructor who guided me through everything — from the basics to handling both small waves, big waves and strong currents. there was a moment i ended up swimming more than surfing and almost drowned 🤣 but all good! the first day was the toughest, but i improved with each session and ended the week feeling proud and confident on the board. recommended 👍🏼
