The instructors thought of every little detail, from providing special sunblock to protect against the sun, to surf tops and shoes. Everything was well taken care of. Nawir and all his staff felt like family after our week with them. We did the 5 lesson acceleration program, it was the best investment we ever made. I was a beginner and alone so pretty nervous and he just cultivated such a chill environment and was so easy to learn. Then in the water he was really supportive and gave great feedback.  Verified  A really great surf school which gives proper surf learning experience I had 3 lessons with Ivan as a complete beginner. He explained all the safety and surfing basics clearly, patiently answered my many questions and regularly checked that I understood everything and felt comfortable in the water, even in tougher waves. He also kept a relaxed, positive vibe throughout. The first lesson started a bit anxious but I felt much more confident by the end. The second lesson was the best - I managed to catch almost every wave I went for and even learned how to turn. The third lesson was early morning (6am): fewer people, great sunrise atmosphere. The waves were more challenging, but I still enjoyed it and caught a few. If you’re new, it helps to read a bit beforehand about pop-up timing, wave basics and safety. Early sessions can be especially rewarding, though conditions vary day to day. Overall, I’d recommend the school. Riding a wave is a unique feeling.

Yudi, Nawir and the professional team at Bali Surf Instructor helped make it happen and I went from zero to being able to catch my own waves and even make some turns! The coaches were patient, lessons were structured and progressive targeting core elements each day. Video analysis helped spot improvements and ‘classroom’ training happens right out in the water while waiting for waves with your coach. Their local knowledge of surf conditions makes it possible for you to catch more waves to get as much practice as possible during each lesson.  Verified  Best surf coaches, also amazing with kids I’m so happy I chose Nawir to surf with in Canggu this month — he’s a truly excellent coach. I had surfed a bit in the past but had lost my confidence, and he helped me feel capable and relaxed in the water again. He has a really calm, supportive way of teaching that made such a difference. I’ve had surf coaches in New Zealand, Hawaii, Costa Rica and Panama, and Nawir stands out above all of them in his attention to detail, professionalism, and overall skill as a teacher — while still keeping everything easygoing and enjoyable. What I really appreciated was his holistic approach. He could sense I was feeling a bit anxious and took the time to refresh the basics and go over ocean safety properly. So many instructors miss the importance of things like getting back out through the surf or what to do when a bigger set comes through — but Nawir and his team covered everything. This was especially important for me as my two children were also surfing with instructors on his team. They were wonderful — patient, attentive, and very safety-focused — and I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such good hands. I feel like I learned more from him in two sessions than I have in weeks of lessons before.
